2. How Far Down the Rabbit Hole Are You Willing to Go?
The Journey Down the Rabbit Hole is one of mythic proportions. The first step on this journey is to accept its challenges, something your Inner Critic definitely will not want you to do! You must, like any heroine or hero, say "Yes!" to the journey. Once you say "Yes", you can be sure you will be confronted by Mad Hatters, insane Queens, monsters and angels in disguise who pop up to challenge and scare you. I know this journey like the back of my hand and will be there to guide and support you. |

3. Interviewing Your Characters
The fact is, your characters have lives outside of you. The trick for fiction writers is to unearth that life. To do this, I've developed a technique called Interviewing Your Character that seduces your characters to open their hearts, reveal their emotions and dramas. This is an endlessly fascinating way to develop characters — a technique you will use over and over. |

This is because you immediately fall into a very unsettling chaos of not knowing where to go or how to get to where you think you want to go. But don't worry! Working with the chaos of beginnings and the unknown is one of my specialities. I love the chaos. It is fertile beyond the mind's imagining! |
